For years I played Final Fantasy and read the item Phoenix Down as Phoenix Dawn. As such, ever since learning to read properly (roughly 6 months ago it would seem) the former has been burnt into my mind. Pun intended.
Flame fractal using Apophysis, the iterated function is a four part linear series in two dimensions, with 1 mode of symmetry. Initially intended as an elliptoid with a sinusoidal transformation function, I fiddled with the heart transformation and found “Fawkes” staring back at me!
Colouring is function based, not density based, so no touch-ups were needed.
